Movie Plot: 21-year-old Anastasia “Ana.” Steele is an English literature major near Vancouver, Washington, on the satellite campus of Washington State University. When her roommate Kate Kavanagh falls ill and can’t interview 27-year-old billionaire entrepreneur Christian Gray for the college newspaper, Ana agrees to move her place. Called Grey House at Christian’s Seattle headquarters, Ana stops her way through the meeting. Christian, who is the WSU commencement speaker of the year, takes an interest; Soon after, she goes to the hardware store where Ana works. He agreed to request a photo shoot with Ana’s article for which Ana interviewed her.

Christian invites Ana for coffee, but she suddenly says she’s not a man for him. Christian later sent copies of the first edition of Ana to copies of two Thomas Hardy novels, including Tess of D’Arbergle, as a gift.
